Golden Hour Couples Photos at Yankee Hill Lake near Lincoln, Nebraska
When I go scouting for new locations I’m always looking for two things; wide open areas and trees. I like to give couples freedom to run around, dance silly, or explore and with a location that’s tight or is surrounded by trash cans and stop signs, it can be a little difficult and feel restricting on both the photographer and the couple.
Not to mention it’s a huge bonus when the location you’re at feels more private and doesn’t have the eyes of random strangers stopping to ask what you’re up to and sticking around to see how cute the couple is. (sounds awkward but it absolutely has happened) 🤦🏼♂️
I’m all about those belly laughs, piggyback rides, and spinning till you’re dizzy. And it’s important to create the environment and set the mood where the couple feels safe (and eager!) to be themselves. Yankee Hill Lake absolutely checked all the boxes.
I mean it doesn’t get much more open than a lake. But the field surrounded by trees was perfect for running around and feeling immersed in the nature setting. It was completely private and honestly built that perfect comfort level.
We started near the lake and as blue hour set in, moved further into the fields. It worked out seamlessly.
Tony & Marina are absolute gems. Stunning human beings and their tenderness towards one another was so adorable to watch. Here’s a peek into how their perfect session turned out!
